Experience in international shipbuilding
Overheul Marine supports a wide range of maritime projects, from newbuilding supervision and project management to technical support and vessel upgrades.
Our experience includes tugs, offshore support vessels and specialised ships, including vessels with hybrid and electric propulsion systems.
Below are some examples of projects we are involved in or have supported.

Four Offshore Support Tugs
Complete Site Team & Newbuilding Management | Turkey
Overheul Marine is providing the complete Newbuilding Supervision team and site management for a series of four diesel-electric offshore support tugs currently under construction.
Our team covers all major technical disciplines, including steel, painting, piping, mechanical and electrical installations.
We are responsible for managing and coordinating the site team, monitoring construction progress and quality, and reporting to the owner’s representatives throughout the building process.

Port of Tauranga
Hybrid Tug Newbuilding Supervision | Turkey
Overheul Marine is involved in the newbuilding supervision of a hybrid Rotortug for Port of Tauranga, New Zealand, currently under construction at Uzmar Shipyard in Turkey.
The vessel combines powerful towing capabilities with hybrid propulsion technology, designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
Overheul Marine provides local newbuilding supervision, supporting the owner during construction and ensuring that quality, technical requirements and building progress are closely monitored.

Acta Marine
Newbuilding Team Management & Inspection | Turkey
Overheul Marine was involved in the newbuilding programme of Construction Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) for Acta Marine at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.
We were responsible for managing the owner’s newbuilding supervision team and provided part of the inspection team ourselves, covering several technical disciplines.
Our responsibilities included coordinating the site team, monitoring construction progress and quality, following up on technical issues and maintaining close communication with the shipyard and the owner’s representatives.
The vessels feature advanced propulsion and electrical systems, including battery-supported hybrid power solutions, and are designed to support offshore wind farm operations.

Juren Ae
Complete Conversion Management & Supervision | Marshall Islands
Overheul Marine was responsible for managing and supervising the complete conversion of Juren Ae, a sailing cargo vessel operating in the Marshall Islands.
The project involved the conversion of the vessel to a hybrid propulsion system, combining wind-assisted propulsion with an electric drive, battery storage and solar power.
Overheul Marine coordinated and supervised the conversion works, working closely with the parties involved to monitor technical progress, quality and the integration of the new systems.
The project demonstrates our experience in managing complex vessel conversions involving hybrid and electric propulsion technology.
